Project Description

Project Overview

Having decided that the flat roof of St.Teresa’s school in Preston was in need of refurbishment, Lancashire County Council opted to renovate by converting the flat roof to a pitched roof.

An Ashjack structural framing system from Ash & Lacy Building Systems was specified, to be clad with Britmet Tileform Profile 49 metal tiles. BBR Roofing were the successful contractors for the roofing works.

The BBA approved structural framing system consisted of a lightweight steel frame which BBR Roofing’s operatives secured to the existing structure in accordance with the structural engineer’s specific design. BBR Roofing then installed the outer covering of Britmet Tileform galvanised steel tiles on timber battens. The metal tiles have a granule finish which gives the appearance of traditional concrete tiles, but with only a fraction of the weight.
